Booted version of the Laser, sold mainly in Australia and South Africa, and borrowing its name from the Canadian outpost of the Ford Motor Company. In Australia, the Meteor was a stop-gap replacement for the Cortina until the Telstar arrived. Absorbed into the Laser range in Australia in 1987, but continued in South Africa till 1995.
