Ford LTD Crown Victoria. 1983–91 (prod. over 1,062,000). 4-door sedan. F/R, 4942 cm³ (V8 OHV). With Ford having split the LTD into two lines, the larger continued as LTD Crown Victoria from 1983. Similar to 1979–82 incarnation, but 4·2 and 5·7 now history. Fuel injection on remaining V8, and sequential multi-port injection later added for 150 hp. LX premium line added in 1986, and two-doors cancelled after 1987. Facelift with smoother front and rear for 1988, and airbag and new dashboard for 1990. Remained popular throughout its run, especially as petrol prices fell in the 1980s, and a favourite for fleet buyers wanting a traditional American sedan.
