1981 Ford Granada GL.jpg

Ford Granada. 1981–2 (prod. n/a). 2- and 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 2302 cm³ (I4 OHC), 3273 cm³ (I6 OHV), 3797 cm³ (V6 OHV), 4186 cm³ (V8 OHV). Granada downsized for the 1980s. Basically a posh, formal Fairmont, the four-door sedan and wagon twinned with the Mercury Cougar (1980–2), though Granada had a two-door sedan. Wagon (1982 only) shared the rear end with the Fairmont—showing how closely the cars were related. First Ford to have the Essex 3·8. Both the Fairmont and Granada were replaced by yet another variant of the Fox-platform cars, the 1983 LTD.
