1973 Ford Galaxie 500 Hardtop Coupé.jpg

Ford Galaxie 500. 1973–4 (prod. 351,355). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé, 4-door hardtop sedan. F/R, 351, 400, 429, 460 in³ (V8 OHV). Similar idea to before, but with bulkier appearance and big bumpers to meet federal regulations. The entire car was heavier, too, which led to even more dismal fuel economy. Above-average in terms of reliability. Base engine was the 351, with the 429 deleted after 1973. The range was absorbed into the LTD line after 1974. No Country Sedan wagon equivalent.

Manufacturing location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Marque: Ford | Model: Ford Galaxie | Predecessor: Ford Galaxie 500 (1969–72) | Successor: Ford LTD (1973–8)
