Ford GT. 2005–6 (prod. 4,038). 2-door coupé. M/R, 5409 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Revival of Ford’s legendary GT40 racing car of the 1960s, but enlarged to suit modern road usage. Modern under the skin, with aluminium frame. Rivalled supercars when new, hitting 200 mph. V8 supercharged, developing 500 hp. Trade mark issues prevented use of GT40 name. Developed as a halo car for the Ford brand, but eventually fell victim to the company’s financial troubles and cancelled, with the last cars leaving the factory in 2007.

Manufacturing location: Wixom, Michigan, USA

Marque: Ford | Model: Ford GT | Successor: Ford GT (2017–)
