Ford Fusion/Ford Mondeo (CD391). 2012 to date (prod. n/a). 4- and 5-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, 999 cm³ (3 cyl. Taking Mondeo Mk IV as a base, Ford developed the new Fusion, to replace its CD-class models globally. Heavily altered Mondeo platform, using again MacPherson struts at front, multi-link suspension at rear, though latter reworked to an integral link design, similar to Audi and BMW. Same wheelbase as before, at 2,850 mm. Fusion launch first for 2013 model year, solely as a four-door sedan. Likened to Aston Martin models at front; styling headed by Brit Chris Hamilton. Mk V Mondeo features Ecoboost 1·0 developing 123 bhp and new 1·5 diesel. Related to new Lincoln MKZ (CD533).
