Ford Falcon (XK, 19XK-Thunderbird). 1960–2 (prod, 68,465). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door utility. F/R, 144, 170 in³ (I6 OHV). The car that started an Australian institution. Initially a development of the 1959 US model. Wagon from 1961, different at rear from US to increase amount of common componentry with sedan. Streets ahead of market leader Holden (FB) in Australia, but fragile when faced with tougher conditions with front suspension and transmission issues.
