Ford Fairmont Ghia (BA).jpg

Ford Fairmont (EA169). 2002–5 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 3984 cm³ (I6 DOHC), 5408 cm³ (V8 OHC). Luxury version of Falcon, benefiting from extensive makeover, which helped increase sales. No wagons any more: only a single, four-door sedan body style. Dynamically superior to equivalent Holden Calais (VZ), though less sporting than XRs in base Falcon range. Double wishbone front and Control Blade independent rear suspension still helped handling, but softer ride in Fairmonts. V8 more fuel-efficient than Holden’s. Not the best in quality terms, but a lot of car for the price.

Manufacturing locations: Broadmeadows, Victoria, Australia

Marque: Ford | Model page: Ford Fairmont | Predecessor: Ford Fairmont (AU) | Successor: Ford Fairmont (BF)
