Ford Fairlane (EA77). 1995–6 (prod. 8,059). 4-door sedan. F/R, 3984 cm³ (I6 OHC), 4942 cm³ (V8 OHV). Reworked Fairlane, with shortened grille resembling Fairmont’s, and longer tail. Part of EA77 series, a revamp of the EA26 platform. Floor-mounted park brake introduced, along with driver’s airbag. Engine overhauled, as with EF Falcon, now more economical and refined. Series II from October 1995, adding passenger airbag. Still not as well put together as Japanese luxury cars but unbeatable value in its home market, especially buyers who wanted a large engine and cruising capabilities.
