1968 Ford Fairlane Hardtop.jpg

Ford Fairlane. 1968–9 (prod. n/a). 2- and 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/R, 200 in³ (I6 OHV), 289, 302, 390, 428 in³ (V8 OHV). Same wheelbase (116 in) for 1968, but a new body, with most dimensions growing. Four-door sedan also built in Argentina from 1969 to 1982 with different engines. Terrible handling despite sporting pretensions of fastbacks, with leaf springs at rear and soft suspension all round. Related to Mercury Comet (1968–9) and Mercury Cyclone (1968–9), while upscale Fairlanes wore the Torino badge.

Manufacturing location: Lorain, Ohio, USA

Marque: Ford | Model: Ford Fairlane | Predecessor: Ford Fairlane (1966–7) | Successor: Ford Fairlane (1970)

q.v. Ford Fairlane (1969–82)
