Ford Escape (C482). 2019 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 1499 cm³ (I3 DOHC), 1999 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Swoopy replacement for C520, on new C2 architecture, débuting in New York as a 2020 model in the US. Lower but with more headroom, and increased rear legroom and cargo space. Blind spot and parking assistance, automatic braking and automatic beam. Three-cylinder 1·5 is base unit for US, turbocharged 2·0 carried over but with more power. Lighter than predecessor. In the US, Escape supplanted most of Ford’s passenger cars.
