Ford EcoSport (BV226). 2004–13 (prod. 290,922 sold in Brazil only to end of 2009). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 999, 1596, 1999 cm³ petrol, 1399 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Ford Fiesta Mk VI-based SUV, related to the Ford Fusion (B226) but with off-road pretensions. FWD as standard, four-wheel drive only for top models. Very successful in home market as trends moved toward small SUVs; EcoSport offered economy-car mileage with a tough æsthetic. Sold principally in Brazil and Argentina, though exported around the region.
