Ford Contour (CDW27). 1994–7 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2544 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Launched 1994 as a 1995 model, Contour was part of multi-billion-dollar CDW27 world car programme at Ford, twinned with European Mondeo. Americanized model actually a better looker with oval grille and neater tail treatment. Slightly softer in handling terms. Sport option April 1996, but no SVT for this shape. Plusher Mercury model called Mystique.
