Ford Consul Corsair/Ford Corsair. 1963–70 (prod. 310,000 approx.). 2- and 4-door saloon, 5-door estate, 2-door convertible. F/R, 1498 cm³ (I4 OHV), 1663, 1996 cm³ (V4 OHV). Mid-sized replacement for Ford Consul Classic, based on stretched Cortina platform with 1961 Thunderbird-inspired styling. Rare convertible by Crayford; estates converted by Abbotts. Underpowered, and eventually crowded out of the mid-sized market by larger Ford Cortina Mk III. Consul Corsair to 1965, Corsair thereafter.
