Ford Consul zweitürig.jpg

Ford Consul. 1972–5 (prod. unknown). 2- and 4-door saloon, 2-door coupé, 5-door estate. F/R, 1699, 1996 cm³ (V4 OHV), 2496, 2994 cm³ (V6 OHV). Anglo-German Consul, replacing Taunus 17M in Germany and Zephyr Mk IV in Britain. Excellent dynamics for the time. More sensibly sized than Zephyr—an admission Ford got it wrong with that model. All models became Ford Granadas in 1975, but initially positioned below that range. Coupé featured coke-bottle line initially, later revised.

Manufacturing locations: Köln, Germany; Essex, England

Marque: Ford | Model: Ford Consul | Predecessors: Ford Taunus (P7.2), Ford Zephyr Mk IV | Successor: Ford Granada Mk I
