Ford Aerostar (VN1). 1986–97 (prod. 2,029,577). 4-door MPV, 4-door extra-length MPV. F/R, F/A, 2302 cm³ (I4 OHC), 2792, 2987, 4009 cm³ (V6 OHV). Ford’s response to the Chrysler T-115 minivans, with a then-low Cd of 0,37. No rear door on driver’s side. Longer version from 1989, with an extra c. 14 inches behind the third seat, but no change to wheelbase. All-wheel drive from 1990 to 1997; four-litre V6 also from 1990. Mid-term update in 1992, with new grille and headlights, but no sheetmetal changes. Few yearly changes thereafter.
