1992 Fiat Prêmio CS 1,5 ie.jpg

Fiat Prêmio/Fiat Duna (Tipo 155). 1985–2000 (prod. 257,559 in Argentina, incl. Elba). 2- and 4-door sedan. F/F, 1116, 1301, 1372, 1499, 1581 cm³ petrol, 1301, 1697 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Booted Uno for Brazil, with more power from 1·5, positioning the Prêmio slightly more upmarket. Rear seat wider than that of Uno. Extra weight with the boot, taking it up to 934 kg. Not as comfortable behind the wheel compared with Volkswagen Voyage (BX) but more refined, and larger boot. Acceptable handling for the era and segment, based on contemporary road tests. Fit and finish not the best, and considered dated in the 1990s against newer competition. The 1·3 was added in the second half of 1985, four-door from 1987, and exported to Europe with the Duna badge. Power increase for 1·5 (71 PS to 82 PS) in 1987. Facelift in 1991, and little changed afterwards; production concluded in Brazil in 1994. Argentinian production, as Duna, from 1988, featuring 1·5 and 1·6 and two diesels, 1·4 from Tipo added 1994. The top seller in Argentina for many years in the 1990s, and Dunas were even exported to Brazil after the Prêmio was cancelled, till 1996.
