Ferrari F355/Ferrari 355. 1994–9 (prod. 11,273). 2-door coupé, 2-door targa, 2-door convertible. M/R, 3496 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Evolution of Ferrari 348, with five-valve-per-cylinder head and increase in cubic capacity. Name derived from decilitres and number of valves per cylinder, breaking with tradition. More aggressive looks, though 348 roots clear. Considered one of the finest sports cars when launched. Underbody took lessons from exclusive F50. Paddle gearshift for 355 F1 model from 1997. Race-ready model, F355 Challenge, from 1995; limited-edition (104 units) Serie Fiorano spider in 1999.
