1970 Ferrari 365GTB4.jpg

Ferrari 365 GTB/4. 1969–73 (prod. 1,284 approx. plus 125 approx. Spyder). 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/R, 4390 cm³ (V12 DOHC). Long, lithe, front-engined V12 challenger to Lamborghini Miura: rather than go the mid-engined route, Ferrari stuck with a traditional layout. Débuted at Paris in 1968, and referred to, even by Ferrari, as the Daytona, in honour of the 1–2–3 sweep the company had made at that race in 1967. Considered the pinnacle of sports’ cars on launch, reaching 174 mph in Autocar (beating the Miura S by 2 mph). Spyder shown at Frankfurt 1969, with production from 1970.

Manufacturing location: Maranello, Modena, Italy

Marque: Ferrari | Predecessor: Ferrari 275 GTB/4 | Successor: Ferrari 365 GT4 BB

q.v. Ferrari 365 GTC/4
