1994 Eunos 800.jpg

Eunos 800/Mazda Millenia. 1993–2003 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1995, 2255, 2497 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Eunos’s flagship, featuring a Miller-cycle V6 2·3, aluminium bonnet, and options of four-wheel steering, superchargers and other luxuries. Plasticky dash and fittings let down the luxury image on US export models. Miller engine particularly refined and powerful, though thirsty. Soft, with poor steering. With the failure of Mazda’s multi-brand strategy, the car began changing identities. By 1996, the Mazda badge appeared on the cars, and by 1997, with Eunos shutting down, the cars were renamed Mazda Millenia, the name they adorned for export to the US. Badged Xedos 9 in Europe. A compromised luxury car that was never directly replaced.

Manufacturing location: Hiroshima, Japan

Marque: Eunos | Predecessor: Mazda Sentia (HD)
