Dongfanghong BJ760

Dongfanghong (東方紅/东方红) BJ760. 1960–9 (prod. 230). 4-door sedan. F/R, 2445 cm³ (I4 SV). GAZ 21-based Chinese sedan, the 2·4 shared with the Russian model. Externally, there were differences, with a rear panoramic window, flatter surfaces, and different sheetmetal. Instrument panel also differed from the GAZ 21. Top speed of 125 km/h, and fuel consumption of 9·8 ℓ/100 km recorded at the time, figures bettering those of the Volga. Hand-made, hence the low numbers. Three are known to survive, having belonged to former secretaries of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and two of those are in museums.
