Dodge Charger. 1968–70 (prod. over 223,000). 2-door coupé. F/R, 225 in³ (I6 OHV), 318, 383, 426, 440 in³ (V8 OHV). Big B-body Charger, well equipped for the era and plenty of power from the V8s, especially R/T with 426 and 440 in³ units. Hidden quad headlamps and rear buttresses made for a particularly handsome, clean machine. Impact-absorbing steering column and three-point shoulder-harness seat belts standard. Side markers, split front grille and new, wide, horizontal taillights on ’69s, with more powerful packages, as well as a slant-six introduced this year. Chrome loop bumper and black grille for 1970, with some other changes. Famed for its appearance in Bullitt (1968) and later in the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard.
