De Tomaso Pantera. 1970–91 (prod. 7,260). 2-door coupé. M/R, 5763 cm³ (V8 OHV). Supercar conceived as response to Chevrolet Corvette, with Ford engine and styling by Tom Tjaarda at Ghia (who later penned the Ford Fiesta Mk I and Autobianchi Y10). Better balanced and complete than De Tomaso Mangusta. Poor build quality on early models. Never took on Corvette as planned, as Ford–de Tomaso relationship ended in 1974. Originally made by Vignale, later to De Tomaso plant at Bruciata.
