Daimler Sovereign (XJ6). 1973–9 (prod. 2,347 3·4; 14,531 4·2 LWB; 3,276 SWB; 1,676 coupé). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon, 2-door coupé. F/R, 3442, 4235 cm³ (I6 DOHC). Facelift for Sovereign, in line with US legislation. Raised bumpers improved looks. Essentially a fancy Jaguar XJ6, which also went to Series II for these years, with fluted radiator. LWB only from November 1974; 3·4 from 1975; coupés from 1975 to 1977. Poor quality in this generation under British Leyland.

Manufacturing location: Coventry, West Midlands, England

Marque: Daimler | Model: Daimler Sovereign | Predecessor: Daimler Sovereign Series I | Successor: Daimler Sovereign Series III
