Daimler Limousine (DS420). 1968–92 (prod. 5,043, incl. 2 landaulet). Various bodystyles, incl. 4-door limousine. F/R, 4235 cm³ (I6 DOHC). Replacement for DR450 limousine, engineered by Jaguar and featuring XK engine. On 420G (Mk X) floorpan but with lengthened wheelbase. Bulk similar to that of Rolls-Royce Phantom VI, but Daimler far cheaper. Facelift in 1979 with production shifting to Coventry. Updated in its 25-year run with various refinements and technology. Always in price lists as Daimler Limousine and not its DS420 code name.
