Daihatsu Terios/Daihatsu Taruna. 1997–2006 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 1295, 1498, 1589 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1297, 1495 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC). Small SUV, with a 1,555 mm width. More capable than the likes of the Toyota RAV4 (XA10G), thanks to permanent four-wheel drive and manually lockable differential on 4WD models. Roomy due to the height. Minor changes in 1998 and 2000; RWD added in 2000. Also badged Toyota Cami. Japanese production to 2005. Indonesian model, called Taruna C, built till 2006, with 1·5- and 1·6-litre OHC and DOHC units, and complemented by long-wheelbase Daihatsu Taruna F. Shortened model called Daihatsu Terios Kid. Malaysian Perodua Kembara made under licence.
