2002 Daihatsu Sirion.jpg

Daihatsu Storia. 1998–2004 (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 713, 1297 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 989 cm³ (I3 DOHC). Retro-styled replacement for Charade, appealing to those who liked a decent level of equipment for the price, but the one-litre engine was underpowered, and the cars were unrefined and suffered from a harsh ride. Rivals had a better finish, though Storia (Sirion on export) had above-average mechanical reliability on its side. X4 was a 4WD homologation rallying special, with a potent turbocharged 713 cm³ engine, from April 1998. Also badge-engineered as the Toyota Duet. Mid-term changes 2001.

Manufacturing location: Japan

Marque: Daihatsu | Predecessor: Daihatsu Charade (G200) | Successor: Daihatsu Boon (M300)
