Daihatsu Mira (L250/L251). 2002–9 (prod. n/a). 3- and 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 659, 989 cm³ (I3 DOHC). Well equipped and cheap to run, though contemporary reports indicated front grip was poor. Badged Charade in some countries for export, and equipped with one-litre engine; the home market made do with 0·7-litre unit. Very low fuel consumption, with stop–start in Japan. Anti-skid, ABS and traction control available. Various special editions kept interest going in Japan. Mid-term changes 2005. Ran alongside successor briefly, but cancelled 2009.
