Daewoo Nexia. 1995 to date (prod. unknown). 3-, 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 1498, 1998 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). Sister car to Daewoo Cielo, but slightly more upscale. Nexia name was usually found on export models based around the Opel Kadett E, though between March 1995 and November 1996, was also sold in the Korean home market. Given how dated the technology was at this point, the cars could hardly be said to be that upscale, or even competitive, though standard equipment was generous on export models. Refined in a 1980s’ context, less so by the 2000s’. Korean production to end of 1996 only; Uzbek production of four-door sedan continued well into the first decade of the 21st century. A very popular car in Uzbekistan, and exported from there to Russia, where it also found good custom. (Fifty per cent of Uzbek output is destined for Russia.) By 2006, it was the third-best selling car in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Manufacturing locations: Bupyeong-gu, Korea; Asaka, Andizhan, Uzbekistan

Marque: Daewoo | Predecessor: Daewoo LeMans | Successors: Daewoo Lanos, Daewoo Nubira
