ItalDesign styling, hiding what was still a fairly underdeveloped and, relative to the competition, less safe car. South Korean production ended 2002 as Daewoo collapsed, though cars made or assembled under licence in former Eastern Bloc territories such as Poland (by FSO, though marketed as Daewoo Lanos), Ukraine (as ZAZ or ЗАЗ Lanos and Sens, or Сенс, and badge-engineered for Russian sale as Chevrolet Lanos) and Russia (as the Doninvest Assol). ZAZ models have 1299 or 1498 cm³ OHC engines, the former of its own design.
