Chevrolet Lacetti.jpg

Daewoo Lacetti/Buick Excelle/Chevrolet Optra/Chevrolet Lacetti (J241). 2002 to date (prod. unknown). 4- and 5-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, 1399, 1598, 1799, 2006 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). Replacement for Daewoo Nubira in stylish ItalDesign clothing (for Lacetti5) or modern Pininfarina styling (sedan and wagon). Looks attractive but hides mediocre dynamics; car also seems narrow due to revised Nubira platform. Sold in most countries as cut-price compact with more aliases than expected: Chevrolet Lacetti and Nubira in Europe, Chevrolet Optra in the Middle East, India and Canada, Buick Excelle in China (though facelifted in the Republic and the People’s Republic of China, different from Korean-built models) and Holden Viva in the antipodes. Sold for a time as Suzuki Forenza (sedan, wagon) and Reno (hatchback). Actually flopped in Australia and New Zealand and deleted before being resurrected as a Holden in 2006–7.

Manufacturing locations: Kunsan, Korea; Shanghai, China; Halol, India; Illychevsk, Ukraine

Marque: Daewoo | Model: Daewoo Lacetti | Predecessors: Daewoo Nubira, Opel Astra G | Successors: Buick Excelle (2007–), Buick Excelle (2008–), Daewoo Lacetti (J300)
