Chevrolet Lacetti.jpg

Daewoo Lacetti/Chevrolet Optra/Chevrolet Lacetti/Suzuki Forenza/Suzuki Reno/Holden Viva. 2002 to date. 4- and 5-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, 1399, 1598, 1799, 2006 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). Replacement for Daewoo Nubira in stylish ItalDesign clothing (for Lacetti5) or modern Pininfarina styling (sedan and wagon). Looks attractive but hides mediocre dynamics; car also seems narrow due to revised Nubira platform. Sold in most countries as cut-price compact: Chevrolet Lacetti and Nubira in Europe, Chevrolet Optra in the Middle East, India and Canada, Buick Excelle in China (though facelifted in Taiwan, different from Korean-built models) and Holden Viva in the antipodes. Sold for a time as Suzuki Forenza (sedan, wagon) and Reno (hatchback). Actually flopped in Australia and New Zealand and deleted before being resurrected as a Holden in 2006–7.

Manufacturing locations: Bupyeong, Korea; Shanghai, China; Halol, India

Marque: Daewoo | Predecessor: Daewoo Nubira

q.v. Buick Excelle
