2009 Dacia Duster.jpg

Dacia Duster/Renault Duster. 2009 to date (prod. 2,000,000 approx. for Phase I). F/F, F/A, 1461 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1197, 1598, 1997 cm³ petrol, 1598 cm³ LPG, 1598 cm³ bioethanol (I4 DOHC). Logan-based (which means Renault Clio II bits) crossover SUV, reviving export name once used for ARO 10, with roughly the same footprint as a Volkswagen Golf VI. Targeted at eastern European, Middle Eastern and some African markets first, with Brazilian production following (with Renault brand). Built to a price, with unattractive plastics inside, and not the highest quality outside. Dynamically dated—unsurprising given the platform origins—but appealing to a no-nonsense consumer demanding a lot of metal for the money. Facelift in 2013. Romanian production to 2017.

Manufacturing location: Mioveni, Argeş, Romania; Moskva, Russia; Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India; São José dos Pinhais, Brazil

Marque: Dacia | Model: Dacia Duster | Successor: Dacia Duster II

q.v. Nissan Terrano (B0)
