F/F, 1580, 1761, 1998 cm³ petrol, 1905, 1997, 2088 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1761, 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2946 cm³ (V6 OHC). Follow-up to successful BX, with hydropneumatic suspension, and the most expensive models employing Hydractive, a computer-controlled version that could give better control during cornering or hard braking. Active suspension from 1994 for top models. Bertone styling. Estate by Heuliez from 1995. All had excellent ride, and spacious interiors, the estate more so. Phase two from December 1997. Not the most reliable unless carefully serviced, while car actually gripped well but did not feel responsive due to the steering assistance.
