New Yorker nameplate moved on to the E platform, basically a stretched K-car, though interior room was comparable to the larger Dodge Diplomat (1977–89). Lavishly trimmed, with then-state-of-the-art digital dashboard, trip computer, and voice alerts. Formal landau-style roof. Change to grille from 1984, when turbo 2·2 added to range; new rear-quarter panels from 1986. Mitsubishi 2·6 replaced by 2·5 for 1986. Replaced at end of 1987 model year, with the exception of the Turbo, which lasted one more year.
Marque: Chrysler | Model: Chrysler New Yorker | Predecessor: Chrysler New Yorker (1982) | Successor: Chrysler New Yorker (1988–93)
