1986 Chrysler New Yorker Turbo.jpg

Chrysler New Yorker. 1983–8 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 2213, 2507, 2555 cm³ (I4 OHC). New Yorker nameplate moved on to the E platform, basically a stretched K-car, though interior room was comparable to the larger Dodge Diplomat (1977–89). Lavishly trimmed, with then-state-of-the-art digital dashboard, trip computer, and voice alerts. Formal landau-style roof. Change to grille from 1984, when turbo 2·2 added to range; new rear-quarter panels from 1986. Mitsubishi 2·6 replaced by 2·5 for 1986. Replaced at end of 1987 model year, with the exception of the Turbo, which lasted one more year.

Manufacturing location: USA

Marque: Chrysler | Model: Chrysler New Yorker | Predecessor: Chrysler New Yorker (1982) | Successor: Chrysler New Yorker (1988–93)
