1995 Chrysler LHS.jpg

Chrysler LHS (LH207). 1994–7 (prod. 44,739 for 1994 only). 4-door sedan. F/F, 3518 cm³ (V6 OHC). Chrysler’s new flagship. Stretched LH car, and a sister car to the Chrysler New Yorker (1994–6). Five seats, instead of New Yorker’s six, with floor console and shifter; LHS also had a more modern-looking interior, with more goodies, including low-speed traction control, automatic temperature control, and eight-way power seats. Sportier image. Tauter suspension, on the Touring setting, compared to the New Yorker, and without the body cladding—this appealed more to the 1990s US buyer. Soon the New Yorker was deleted in favour of the LHS. Similar remarks apply: reliable, good fuel economy and decent performance; better handling than New Yorker.

Manufacturing location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada

Marque: Chrysler | Model: Chrysler LHS | Predecessors: Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue (1990–3), Chrysler Imperial (1990–3) | Successor: Chrysler LHS (1999–2001)
