Chevrolet Lumina APV.jpg

Chevrolet Lumina APV/Chevrolet Lumina Minivan (GMT199). 1990–6 (prod. n/a). 4-door MPV. F/F, 3135, 3350, 3791 cm³ (V6 OHV). Chevrolet foresees the behaviour of US buyers, as they abandoned station wagons in favour of minivans. Lumina APV was a sleek, stylish alternative to the boxier Chryslers, with modular seating for up to seven; used composite plastic panels over a steel spaceframe. No rear door on driver’s side. Début 3·1, delivering 120 hp, lacking in power; 3·8 with 165 hp from 1992 became optional. Facelift with more upright grille in 1994, when the APV designation was dropped in favour of the less imaginative ‘Minivan’. The 3·4, delivering 180 hp, standard in its final year, replacing the other V6s.

Manufacturing location: Tarrytown, New York, USA

Marque: Chevrolet | Model: Chevrolet Lumina | Predecessor: Chevrolet Celebrity | Successor: Chevrolet Venture

q.v. Pontiac Trans Sport (1990–6), Oldsmobile Silhouette (1990–6)
