2003 Chevrolet Impala LS.jpg

Chevrolet Impala (W-body). 2000–5 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 3350, 3791 cm³ (V6 OHV). Impala goes front-drive, though in reality this was a heavily revised Lumina with some retro design cues. Consequently, it was unrefined and dated alongside the competition and was never that capable alongside other big cars in the US market. Roomy, and V6s were acceptable at launch. Unremarkable, with soft suspension and under-par interior materials. Vague steering and average handling. Supercharged 3·8 SS model from 2004 had tauter suspension and more power.

Manufacturing location: Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

Marque: Chevrolet | Model: Chevrolet Impala | Predecessors: Chevrolet Impala (1994–6), Chevrolet Lumina (1995–2001) | Successor: Chevrolet Impala (2006–13)
