1967 Chevrolet Camaro Rally Sport Convertible.jpg

Chevrolet Camaro. 1967–8 (prod. 456,053). 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/R, 230, 250 in³ (I6 OHV), 302, 327, 350, 396 in³ (V8 OHV). GM gets in on the pony-car market, with its F-body platform, shared with the Pontiac Firebird (1967–8), and a large list of options. Based around Chevy II. Same wheelbase as its Mustang rival. Front subframe on rubber mounts for improved NVH. Front wishbones and coils, with springs between the arms, but rear leaf springs compromised roadholding. Rear traction bars helped, and later staggered shocks. RS (Rally Sport), SS (Super Sport) and Z/28 packages available; 302 was installed as part of the Z/28 package as Trans-Am requirements included the engine being under 305 in³.

Manufacturing locations: Norwood, Ohio, USA; Van Nuys, California, USA

Marque: Chevrolet | Model: Chevrolet Camaro | Successor: Chevrolet Camaro (1969)
