Chevrolet 1900 LS Hatch.jpg

Chevrolet 1300/Chevrolet 1900 (HC). 1975–8 (prod. n/a). 3- and 4-door sedan. F/R, 1256, 1953 cm³ (I4 OHV). Further development of Vauxhall Viva (HC), replacing Chevrolet Firenza range in South Africa. Body styles now included a three-door hatchback unique to the country (the Vauxhall Chevette was not sold there, but components from that model were used), while a more formal grille adorned the range. Inside, the Chevette’s instrument panel replaced the strip speedometer of the Viva. Mechanically similar to Viva and Firenza. Larger engine a cut-down version of a Chevrolet six.

Manufacturing location: Port Elizabeth, South Africa

Marque: Chevrolet | Predecessor: Chevrolet Firenza | Successor: Chevrolet Ascona
