2012 Chery Eastar.jpg

Chery Eastar (奇瑞 東方之子/奇瑞 东方之子). 2012 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1845, 1971 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Eastar—the export name officially adopted alongside the Chinese badging—finally shakes off its Daewoo Magnus roots, with 68 mm longer wheelbase (to 2,768 mm) and more cohesive styling. Better quality than before, and improved chassis, though still dated against more modern Chinese competition. Interior still below par, and the overall effort appears bland, though Chery priced the vehicle low enough not to warrant lofty expectations from buyers.

Manufacturing location: Wuhu, Anhui, China

Marque: Chery | Predecessors: Chery Dongfangzhizi, Chery Qiyun 5
