Changan Zhixiang (長安志翔/长安志翔) (CV8/SC7200). 2008–10 (prod. n/a). 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 1590 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Having done small commercial vans, and A- and B-segment cars, Changan turned its hand at the C-segment. Concept shown at Shanghai 2007, with production model at Beijing 2008. Developed as CV8 and also dubbed Z-Shine. Basic inside, taking cues from Mazda, whom Changan had worked with. Torsion beam at rear to save cost. Changan’s own two-litre (JL486Q or CA20) installed with good power and torque, and far superior to the Mitsubishi 4G63 that was commonly found in period Chinese cars.
