1996 Cadillac Sedan de Ville Concours.jpg

Cadillac de Ville (K-body). 1994–9 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 4565 cm³ (V8 DOHC), 4892 cm³ (V8 OHV). De Ville shifted to K-body shared with Cadillac Seville (1992–7); coupé and Sixty Special deleted. Retained formal looks, but smoother appearance. Base models had OHV V8, but Northstar DOHC unit for Concours. Remote keyless entry for all models; traction control from 1995. OHV deleted 1996 in favour of lower-output Northstar. Facelifted in 1997, when d’Élégance trim level added that year to replace RWD Fleetwood, and side-impact airbags added for whole range; refreshed interior. Industry-first massaging seats from 1999 for d’Élégance and Concours. Still drove like a boat, seats less than supportive.

Manufacturing location: Hamtramck, Michigan, USA

Marque: Cadillac | Model: Cadillac de Ville | Predecessors: Cadillac de Ville (1989–93), Cadillac Fleetwood (1993–6) | Successor: Cadillac de Ville (2000–5)
