Cadillac Seville (G-body). 1998–2004 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 4565 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Looking like the previous Seville, but with the edges smoothed off, the fifth and final generation was on a different platform, with a longer wheelbase and two extra inches in width. Meant to take on Europe, but failed, despite real-time damping system, which helped ride immensely, and MagneRide from 2002, with magnetorheological fluid-filled shock absorbers, which allowed the firmness of the suspension to be adjusted. Lots of standard equipment, from massaging seats to voice-recognition sat-nav during the run, but early Northstar V8s proved unreliable, and there were still some cheap interior bits. Depreciated sharply and the conservative styling didn’t help sales.

Manufacturing location: Hamtramck, Michigan, USA

Marque: Cadillac | Model: Cadillac Seville | Predecessor: Cadillac Seville (1992–7) | Successor: Cadillac STS
