1989 Cadillac Fleetwood.jpg

Cadillac Fleetwood (C-body). 1989–92 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 4-door LWB sedan, 2-door coupé. F/F, 4467, 4893 cm³ (V8 OHV). Stretched C-body, with an extra three inches in the wheelbase for the sedan (at 113·8 in) though the coupé remained at 110·8 in, recognizing that buyers wanted more size from their Cadillacs. Looking more anachronistic versus foreign competition in the luxury sector, especially as prices headed above $30,000. More powerful (180 hp) 4·5 for 1990, with standard driver’s airbag; 1991 saw the 4·9 developing 200 hp replacing the smaller unit. Traction control for 1992.

Manufacturing location: Lake Orion, Michigan, USA

Marque: Cadillac | Model: Cadillac Fleetwood | Predecessor: Cadillac Fleetwood (1985–8) | Successor: Cadillac Fleetwood (1993–6)

q.v. Cadillac de Ville (1989–93)
