Cadillac Escalade. 1999–2000 (prod. n/a). 5-door UV. F/A, 5733 cm³ (V8 OHV). Essentially a badge-engineered GMC Yukon Denali, both created to give GM rivals to the Lincoln Navigator (1998–2002). As the first truck-based Cadillac, diehards thought it was a reach too far, though consumers flocked to it, giving GM a hit. Plenty of standard equipment, including the OnStar mobile communications’ system and dual front airbags.

Manufacturing location: Arlington, Texas, USA

Marque: Cadillac | Model: Cadillac Escalade | Successor: Cadillac Escalade (2002–6)
