Cadillac Eldorado. 1967–70 (prod. 65,791 sold, 1967–9). 2-door coupé. F/F, 429, 500 in³ (V8 OHV). Front-wheel-drive Eldorado, based around Oldsmobile Toronado (1966–70) platform, sharing suspension. A technological tour de force when new, with superb roadholding, self-levelling control, optional front disc brakes (standard from 1968). Styling by Bill Mitchell very clean with razor-edge looks that set Cadillac apart as a style leader. Hidden headlamps disappeared for 1969, with halo vinyl roof and power sunroof options introduced. For 1970, 500 in³ engine introduced.
