Cóndor GT.jpg

Cóndor (T-car). 1978–81 (prod. n/a). 2-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/R, 1398 cm³ (I4 OHC). Fibreglass version of GM T-car by Aymesa (Automóviles y Máquinas del Ecuador), with Vauxhall Chevette nose and, in the case of the GT coupé, the Kadett Coupé rear. Sporting two-door sedan badged Cóndor GP. Considered to be Ecuador’s first own-branded car, with a strong competition record locally. As Aymesa’s expertise improved, it went on to steel production, replacing Cóndor with a local version of the Chevrolet Chevette.

Manufacturing location: Quito, Ecuador

Marque: Cóndor | Successor: Chevrolet Chevette

q.v. Grumett Sport, Gala (1983), Saehan Gemini, Holden Gemini (TX), Isuzu Bellett Gemini (and their successors)
