Originally the North American name for the second-generation Buick Excelle, till Buick split the Excelle and Verano lines into two for 2015. Verano became the more upscale model, with more powerful engines and a fastback body. The Chinese Verano hatchback from 2016 on was an Opel Astra K with a new grille and front bumper.
